DRL Question ?
Guys:
If you go out to your car.... put in the key... and turn it to ON.... but don't start your car... don't turn on any lights...
Do the front DRL's (Daytime Running Lights) turn on ?
Mine do not.... and I think they should ? Maybe I need to start my car to simulate driving in the day time ? Its too late to try that. My neighbors would kill me...
I had put in a new white LED bulb in last week, and they smelled burnt to me when I got home tonight.
Not sure if I messed anything up or not. I put the original white/amber LED switchbacks back in there just now, and they light up normally when I turn on my lights, and operate normally with my turn signals on. They just don't light up when the key is in the ON position with car off.
I found that the DRL's are controlled by Fuse #2 under hood, and Relay # 38 (Right) and 40 (Left) in the pass footwell. The fuse is fine, but I'm not sure about both relays yet.
Are the DRL's supposed to light up with the car turned off, lights off, and key turned to the ON position ?
Thanks !
Toque

Ok... figured it out. I'm a dumb azz...
I had my E-Brake on...
The DRL's will light up with the Key turned to ON and the E-Brake OFF.
All is good... move along... nothing to see here...

you can adjust the settings via the DIC options as well.

Glad you worked it out.
I think momo20 is referring to Twilight Sentinel on/off.
The only ways to inhibit the DRLs is by pulling fuse #2 or by doing the relay mod.

mark,
that vid is great......been there, done that.
it's nice to know that even a freak for detail (like me) can have a "DOH!!!" moment.
sometimes in life you just need to laugh at yourself and chock it up to "one of life's lessons".
great stuff, thanks for the laugh.
peace,
rich
