Default RE:Now a New Code

Ive had a problem that just started in (my new to me)2000 coupe , I was driving and then heard the DING DING ,then I got "check active handling" and then "check ABS" so I pulled over and shut the car off and it went away, when I got home , I pulled the codes and got a 1225 ( Excessive RF Wheel Variation) then the following day I drove it ,I got about a mile down the road and got a( 1235) RR Connection) I was able to clear that one out and it was fine for a while but now I get a check ABS/active handling warning that wont go away and stays on all the time now. I relize that I dont have ABS any more but what can I try or what does anyone thing is going on (other than a new ICBM , I guess that controls the ABS function? thanks for any idea that could help. this all happened with in 1 week and I just bought this car

I'm guessing it could be an ABS pump that is going bad or has a bad connection. You could get the code sometimes when it isn't working properly and other times not. Sometimes they aren't just "snap" and it goes bad, it could go kaput gradually.

Take it to your trusty neighborhood mechanic and have them check it out.

This fix could be very expensive and frustrating or incredibly cheap and easy so let's go with cheap and easy.

1225 means either right or left front ABS wheel sensors are not giving a good signal. It's most likely the wires and not the sensors or computer. You may need to take apart the wire connectors, clean and bend the connectors so they connect better but while you have both front ABS wires in your hand just switch them side to side. Just put the former right side wire on the left side and visa versa. It's worked for years for me and others. It's the dumbest fix and it works.

Give it a try b4 you start throwing money at it.
