Spare tire solution

I would really like to know because I receive their solicitations all the time. I remember when I was a kid and my parents had AAA due to our interstate vacations. Obviously, this was before NAV systems, smartphones and travel reward credit cards.
Try that in West Texas 60 miles from nowhere. There's a lotta places in the Southwest off I-10 where I wouldn't want a stove bolt through my tire, waiting an hour for a flat-bed to see if the ramp angle suits a Corvette. "Call AAA and deliver the car to the nearest dealership on a Sunday morning."
A little too slow for my tastes.

Can I respectfully request that my question not get buried in suggestions to bring a cell phone and be happy? I'd prefer out of my own choice, to pack a spare. Can anyone answer the questions I posed?
Thank you.
Just to bring it "back to the top":
Thank you.

Guys, he's in the middle of nowhere out in Gods country Arizona where the lizards are dying from the heat with nothing taller than two feet vegitation for as far at the eye can see, We're all glad a cell phone and AAA works for you but trust me, you wouldnt feel that way in that environment.
And OP, regarding if the different sized wheels will cause any problem, Im sorry but I dont know what the tolerance of the system is from side to side, we always talk about it from front to back. As long as there is something like a half inch difference between the overall hieght from front to back (back being greater) the TCS will usually leave you alone. Side to side, Im not sure but it wouldnt be a problem if it just caused AH/TCS to shut down (due to different wheel speed sensor readings), you'ld be able to drive like that as far as you wanted.
What you dont want to see is AH Active on the DIC (or engaged, whatever it says when you over extend and the system corrects for you). That would mean the car would be holding a brake to attempt to correct that side to side differnce.
Lurking to see if someone chimes in with the correct info
