I'm an engineer, and 30+ years ago when I was going through orientation as a new hire, the lady leading the class asked all the engineers to raise their hands.

She then proceeded to hand out dictionaries to all of us, and made the comment that for the most part, we can't spell worth a damn.

And while that is a stereotype, it's not that far off the mark.

So I had my dic display active handling warming up. Then I told me it was done warming up. What dose this mean. Are you not supposed to use it unless that car is op temp?

from what i understand, that comp mode will let your tires spin freely, but wont let your rear end drift more than +/- 20 degrees.

Happens when you move the steering wheel too soon after a cold start, the system has not finished running startup tests.

I ordered a couple of these units to maintain the last mode the car was in when it was last shut off and installed one in the wife's A4 first (guinea pig car ) and it is working fine. It is nice not to have to hold the TC/AH button down. I do have to hit the DIC reset button to wipe the display though. The unit works as advertised. Not sure if they're still around.

Thats a pretty cool little item, I assume you got the universal one? Also do you have any trouble with it not working sometimes? I know I have to try a second time to get into comp driving mode as I guess its not ready or something like that.

My wife doesn't really understand the different modes so, occassionally I'll get in the car and she's accidentally hit the AH/TC button on the console and knocked it all back on so I have to reset it. Works fine when I'm driving her car.

Hmm sounds like I might have to give it a try, I guess it just resets if you hit the button twice?

My wife says TC/AH is for pu$$ies. Then she puts on her helmet, gets in the car, and kicks most of the guys' butts.

I can't believe you guys are letting your wives drive your car. My wife drives my lt1 camaro and that's Plenty for her to screw up. She only drives to vette when I'm with her. Women just don't realize how low cars are.

thats pretty sexist. my wife is a pretty good driver, i'd trust her in my car... and has an 08 mustang gt for herself.

The search engine is weak.

Just to clarify, I too tried the search feature first but got frustrated before starting this thread. And what fun is that anyway? The whole idea of the forum is to start a dialogue among friends which certainly seems to have happened here. Beat to death or not, there seems to be a lot of people wanting to discuss it. For you senior members who have no patience with us newbies, I apologize but I have lots of questions and enjoy talking with you guys as part of the whole corvette experience. Just sayin...
