Default VIR Open House

If you've never had the change to drive VIR & you live nearby, come & drive the track during their open house. Friday March 30th
http://virnow.com/2012/03/12/vir-open-house-2012/

Convertibles are allowed, no roll bars required. There is a pace car, and no passing, but it's still a butt-load of fun. $25/session, which lasts about 15-20 minutes. They've done this twice a year for awhile & I've gone every time, well worth the money. A good cause, too.

I don't know of any age restrictions - give them a call & see what they have to say.

I just got back. It was good fun on the track, but I was disappointed that I got there at 9:00 and could get in only two sessions.

I think VIR needs to rethink the way they do this. The process at the gate was interminably long. They need to figure out a way to preregister people so they can show their ticket and drive right in. I understand traffic was backed up all the way out the gate to the town of Milton.

More sessions means more money for the charity. It's a win-win for everyone.

Note to NASA: You need to set up a booth at these events to promote HPDE and racing. I think you could've signed up dozens of people.

Couldn't they set up preregistration so that you can go to the grid and sign there?

Unfortunately NO you must sign the release before you get on the grounds of the club.

This is standard for every race track.

For our event , the participants sign our Release at registration at the hotel. Then the track release at the gate.

Get a wrist band then go to go for the next two days.
