In Kalifornia that would get you shot by the first cop that pulled you over. I carry in a cross draw or just put the muzzle between my legs. It's a Para p12 in 45 and weighs a ton. Have shown it a couple of times but never had to use it... Hope to God I never do. Rod

You are absolutely correct, it's not concealed, nor does it need to be. In Colorado I could place it in plain view on the console, or passenger seat and be legal. We can also open carry legally. We only need a permit to carry concealed on our person.

Yup!

FYRARMS quoted our law....

"(3) (a) A person who may lawfully possess a handgun may carry a handgun under the following circumstances without obtaining a permit and the handgun shall not be considered concealed:

(I) The handgun is in the possession of a person who is in a private automobile or in some other private means of conveyance and who carries the handgun for a legal use, including self-defense; or

(II) The handgun is in the possession of a person who is legally engaged in hunting activities within the state."

To "lawfully possess a handgun" in Colorado is pretty easy...be 21 and not fall into these categories..

"It is unlawful for any person convicted of a felony or conspiracy or attempt to commit a felony, or misdemeanor domestic violence or adjudicated delinquent for a felony to possess a firearm. It is unlawful for any person under 18 to possess a handgun, and it is unlawful to provide or permit a juvenile to possess a handgun."

My 30+ years experience wasn't as a DA but instead as a member of a very prestigious "gun club."
Thanks, still evaluating this setup, but so far it is meeting all my expectations. I agree with your "RFN" comment and that's why I choose this location.

And as a retired Navy Chief, I appreciate your service in that very prestigious gun club...prestigious is an understatement.

Again, as mentioned before...this may or may not work legally for you. I presented this for those who might be able to take advantage of it.

that's pretty cool... i would like to do something like this in my car but i'm not 100% sure if that would be legal in tx... to my understanding it has to be out of open view

Oh man don't I know...Lived in San Diego for 5 years while stationed at Miramar. It is very difficult if not impossible to see it from outside the vehicle even when no one is in the car. If someone is sitting in the driver's seat your leg completely blocks it from view.

Nice job. I am not sure but I don't think it's legal here in Washington though. I think it must be locked up or concealed on your person here. That may have changed I have not looked into it for years. I have a CCP but prefer to just stay away for trouble. That may change when the riots start after Obummer looses.

Many states consider your car as an extention of your home and it quite legal to carry your firearm in it.We do it all the time.

I guess the thousands of people who carry guns daily know good ways to shoot themselves in the hips and groins, huh?

I like it. Simple, easy to get to and out of the way for the most part.

Living is South Florida and in my profession, I carry a "stun gun" at my feet. Better be safe than sorry. This is a legal carry in the state of Florida.

In South Carolina this would not be legal. If not concealed (on you) it must be in the glove box of console (trunk also ok, but not real helpful). I like a small 380 (like the Kel-Tec) in the glove box and a 9mm in a shoulder holster when I wear a sweater or open shirt over a tee shirt.

PS: In SC it does not have to be locked up and applies even if you are not a licensed concealed weapon carrier

If you have a CC permit issued here in NC, your permit # is the same as your NC drivers license #. If stopped, you're supposed to tell them immediately whether you're carrying. My guess is that when they run your tags since your DL is already "flagged,' the assumption is that you're carrying.

Yeah at least thats the way it is in Texas. We actually pulled over an off duty peace officer who was speeding and it flagged in red that he was licensed to conceal carry.

I guess its a heads up in a way but IMO people with CCL arent the ones you need to worry about.....

Even after living in the US for 7 years, this still worries me. I'm ex military so I'm not worried about guns in the right hands. I've tried most from .22 to 27mm. I just worry that some of the idiots I see every day might be able to carry one.

At least in UK, hand guns are banned (except for the hardened criminals). At least I can go out at night knowing I won't find anyone with a gun.

Even the "right hands" do bad things sometimes.
