Just bought a C5 this week. What is the deal with the cops and Corvettes?

I drive a MY coupe and have had it for 8 months. I think alot of police in my area assume the driver is older(27) and more responsible so I go overlooked for the most part. Not really been followed or pulled over yet. I also have a feeling the cops enjoy seeing nice domestics and not riceburners on the road.

Does your car look like this?
Or This?

Is it really loud?
Do you have this bumper sticker?
Do you look like this?
Maybe you have this plate?
I've been driving C5's for 8 years (pretty crazy driver), and I've never even been pulled over.

I bought my vette a couple years ago,and in Oregon, you are required to have a front plate and it was always on my mind because I didn't have one.It didn't take long to find out that the Leos don't seem to care if you have one or not.I have not seen one vette with a front plate in 2 years.

Being a former cop, speaking for myself,I used to run vette plates just to see what kind of person owned them.Occaisonally when there was a light rain out,i used to pull up next to a vette and tell them there was a law against driving a vette in the rain!! if anything I used to profile the mustangs with younger drivers in them

No I don't have that problem at all. But I am 60 and I kind of look like a cop though.

Gee man, ease up, we own corvettes also....... I pulled one over, just to talk, he was real worried until I told him, one of your tail lights is out, and by the way, I too have a C5 corvette, we had a great time chatting....Don't be a hater...

I drive the torch red 2000 vette it attracts cops but I always get out of tickets even that I dont run a front plate and have the 9 piece blackout kit and always hauling *** I just get a warning and a compiment on a nice car.

My last ticket will be 4 years ago this May. Of course, a blacked out Lambo was getting written up by the same cop at the same time.
They don't even notice my new C5. Stroked, cammed, blown, and they don't even look over at me at the light.

I've never had an issue. One time a cop pulled up next to me and signaled to roll my window down. He just wanted to say nice Corvette, and that he had just traded his C5 on a new Camaro and missed it. The new Camaro is nice but there is no way I would trade mine on one.

i have borla straight pipes, but even before it got stupid loud, cops see 18 year old (granted i look much closer to about 30 at a glance) cruising with the top down, they usually are about 50/50.
one of the better experiances i've had was one cop was sitting in a parking lot where he thought i couldnt see him, and me and my buddy where parked drivers window-drivers window in the turn in for said lot. after we left he "stealthily" got in behind me and pulled me over for "reckless driving" he said leaving it in 2nd at 45 even though i was just enjoying my exhaust note, and not accelerating was reckless.
at first i was pissed when he wanted to search the car, but then i realized he thought i was a drug dealer. after he was done searching, i asked him about it, and he admitted to it, and we had a nice 30-45 minute conversation about how he always wanted a vette.

Fight fire with fire
I don't seem to have any problems and my Challenger has 'blacked out' lights and windows. I did get pulled over twice in two days with my temp tag on the C5 by the Woodstock, GA county mounties but I think they enjoy a peek at a nice car.
