Chrome paint
Has anyone seen a c5 corvette with chrome paint? I checked out the web and found a ZR1 and a c6 z06 but no c5's. Does anyone have pics of the c5? I am considering shooting it in chrome..suggestions? Comments?

No, have never seen one in chrome. Post up the pics of the ones you did find and if you do this, be sure to post up pics of it too.

Should look absolutely beautiful for the first week! But after the swirls and scratches start to show, it's gonna look like a pot that you pull out and toss on the stove. At least that's been my observation of bikes that have been done at custom bike shows.
Looks killer at first(after lot's of work to keep orange peel out) but slowly get's swirled from polishing and trying to keep it cleaned.
Edited.... But I don't know how much better Alsa Corp. has improved their chrome paint since my last encounters about 4 years ago. For all I know.....it now could be something else all together.

over here in the UK you can get a sort of stick on version, also in carbon fibre look as well, its expensive and very specialist, and takes a while to do well! but looks good and probably avoids the swirl issues.

I saw a Viper at a vendor's tent chromed up a few years ago at a car show - the curves on the C5 would lend themselves to the "look" if you like it. I couldn't look at the car for very long though as the reflections when I walked around the car started giving me a headache.
One of those things I would love to see done.....by someone else!

All chrome I think does not look good, but chrome accents on the other hand add a nice flavor...here are some alternative ideas to broaden your outlook...

I would think that chrome paint would be illegal, as it could easily blind someone who is driving another vehicle if the angle of the sun is just right.
I have to admit, though that I always liked the colored chrome look of certain Hotwheel cars when I was a kid.
