Look at my car!!!

Out of all the Vettes ever made, this has got to be the most ugly/best looking one produced! I love my car but I don't need negative comments that come with it. When I get my Top Flight Reproductions shift ****, I'll post my interior shot with something like, 'Almost finished the interior, just need a double din '. I WON"T ask, 'How do you like it so far?'.

BTW, could you post a pic of her??
I actually like your car. It's not the statement I would want to make but I like different. It's cool there are so many variations of the same car.

Yes I want to see the pic of the 20 year old

To the OP. I understand what you're saying. I have always been a muscle car guy and stumbled on my first vette while looking for another one. Found nice low mileage C4 and fell in love with it. I almost bought one back in 1996 but I kinda needed a back seat so i decided against it. Then I retired and bought land in the country and needed a 4x4 pick up. So that brought me to 2007.

I decided I didn't know much about working on a vette so when I needed to do some work on it I started surfing the web for info, which lead me to this website and I joined. I've always been kind of a lone wolf and didn't hang out with other car enthusiasts due to the nature of my job and travels and I thought this was way to cool to have access to like minded people, with the knowledge they possess.

It didn't take long for me to get a little, well ok a lot, peeved at some people so when they fired at me I went in with both guns blazing. I came real close to selling my vette and going back to a muscle car or a new pick up. I started out in C4 gen and then bought a C5 and moved here. It took me a while to get used to the C5 guys/gals but for the most part they are good people and they have helped me a bunch. The thing that will get me rolling though is someone starts in on someone else's car. I'll hammer them evertime for that.

But I have learned there are buttheads everywhere and here is no different. take it with a grain of salt because there are way more people here who are great than there are those who have their butt up momma's skirt.

Hang in there, it'll be fine. I have also learned you lose a lot in translation in this person to electronic communication system we now have. You miss the facial expressions and grin that one may have when posting a comment.

Which makes me wonder, how many ignore lists am I on?

Oh yeah, I don't really care for black wheels either but I know a lot of people despise my wagon wheels as well. I don't care. And neither should anyone care what someone thinks. But if the question is ask, be prepared for negative rsponses. It is what it is.

At least you removed the YELLOW WAGON WHEELS-that's what makes that car the hardest to look at. Was it a pacecar or did you just make it look like one?

It is PC and I bought it with the yellow wheels in boxes. As much as I don't care for the yellow rims, I will show it a few times with them on. Personally, I can't understand why anyone would want go through the trouble of making one instead of just buying an original!

Here's the issue for me. I'm essentially a purist. I really don't want to see this fine automobile basterdized in the name of "style". (We've all seen the pics) Now, some subtle styling is okay, but some that have been posted is borderline atrocious. If you have to "change" the looks of the Corvette so much you might want to ask why did you buy it in the first place? I think some people spend too much time thumbing through the JC Whitney catalogues....

Furthermore, when some of our owners put "styling" ahead of safety is when I will call them out. Safety issues are modifications of DOT approved lights, i.e. smoking or tinting rear lights and brake lights because "it looks good"..... -

I've been a regularly contributing member of a few forums over the past several years, including the Bayliner Owners Club, and Stangnet for Mustang enthusiasts. I must say that in my experience this group is one of the best in terms of members helping members and minimal flaming. I've found most here to be mature and willing to help out a fellow member. Sure, there's some silly stuff that goes on, but by and large this is a good place with good members.
To the OP: If you really want to see how rude and immature a car forum can be, check out Stangnet, especially the SN95 4.6 Talk section, which is comparable to our "general" forum. When I used to visit there a number of years ago, it seemed that it was mostly high school kids who were there because they were waiting to get their dream car right after they got their learners permits. If you want to see how much flaming can go on in a technical forum visit the technical discussion section of the Bayliner Owners Club. This is tame by comparison.
