Driver door lock switch unlocks both doors. Driver switch will not lock either door. Passenger door lock switch works both doors (means both the relays are working?). Another issue--the remote works nothing (put in new battery-still notta). I've read other threads but couldn't find this combo. any advise?
THANKS!--RandyA
Randy, you need to fill out your profile, or at least mention the year of your car in the question. The particular issue with the door lock sounds like a bad switch or connection to it. You might try wiggling the accordion tube in the door jamb, but it sounds like a bad switch to me if it unlocks both doors ok.
I don't know which version of remote fobs you have, but the first thing to try is turn the key on and hold both the lock and unlock buttons until the horn honks. That resyncs the fob to the car. If that fails, follow the instructions in the manual by reprogramming the fob via the DIC. If you have more than one fob, program both in the same training session. The DIC will prompt you through it once you enter the training mode. The earlier model (97-2000) fobs are a lot more expensive than the 01-04 fobs, but they program to the car the same.
I was afraid you'd say 2000. They seem to fail pretty regularly lately. Many have fixed them by soldering the connections inside the remote on the circuit board. You can buy a new one from gmpartshouse.com for around $70. Don't waste your money buying another used, if you can even find one. Ebay sellers are asking that or more for used 2000 fobs. First off, try the resync, then reprogram, then repair, then replace. It won't fix your door lock switch, but it's a start.
