if you DIY its not to bad...a Lingenfelter or Racetronix kit is under $200...you can get at it by removing the drivers side wheel and the heat shield......I only hope you didn't fill up recently
You're relatively lucky with any car before an 03. 03 and later you need to drop the rear cradle
If you're reasonably clever you could do it yourself. If you are ever planning to mod you might look at the upgraded LPE pump as long as you're doing it. I haven't honestly priced these against the OEM pump. Anyone?
OK .... Yesterday as I left the house I drove about 500 yards and the car just shut off. I tried to refire the car and it wouldn't do anything. I noticed that when I turned the switch on i didn't hear the fuel pump cycle. then i checked the fuses and they were all good. Then I removed the shrader valve on the fuel rail and turned the switch in again and no fuel. This is how I came to the conclusion it was the fuel pump. I had the car towed to a repair shop and went there first thing this morning. I was amazed to hear that the repairs were going to cost me $1000 to $1200 and I just about $ it my pants. I called a exclusive Performance here in north Ga and the told me to have the car towed to them and they could fix it for about $500 with Performance fuel pump. So I towed it there and visited the shop in person and was very impressed with the caliber of sick cars and equipment. Part will be there in the morning and i was told I could pick it up after work tomorrow. These guys know thier stuff and I am glad I made the decision to pull it from the one shop and take it to the other one. for anubody in the north Ga area check out www.atlpf.com this is Atlanta Performance and Fabrication's website.
These guys are the real deal! Thanks for all the help on this thread guys.
