I felt the same way you do about a car I owned when I was younger, so I tried to "save" it. Well I began to resent the amount of money I had invested so I sold the car and I can't remember what I bought. Moral of the story: You wanted it bad enough to buy it and unless you are starting a Corvette collection, you should be driving it every chance you get. IMHO.
I sold my mazda over a year ago and bought my vette. I have since put over 30,000 miles on it. Just broke the 100k mile mark the other day. Now headed for the 200k mark as fast as I can!!
I put about 2500 miles a year, since it's a weekend warrior. Road trips to Napa Valley, Hwy 1 up the coast to Bodega Bay and down to San Simeon. Drive it, enjoy it, it's not the destination that matters in this vehicle, it's the ride to and from that you will enjoy the most. The waves from men, women and children in vans as they see you in a sports car living the life. If you could only read their minds, they would be dreaming of doing what you are right now, right then....
Oh, how do I know, I was one looking at a C5 Corvette driving to Los Gatos CA. back in 2007 and now, I'm him.... Drive her, enjoy her and the miles will be like a fine aged red wine that has been sitting in the cellar just getting better with time...
All right, group hug is in order... enjoy the ride..

I agree with all the other great posts. Drive it!! You only get one shot in life, enjoy the spoils you worked hard for. It's not like you have an L-88. My 2000 Coupe,82K miles and counting.
Some corvette owners really amaze me........DRIVE THE FRIGGIN CAR! My high mileage 04 only get passed up for my high mileage tahoe if I don't feel like bending my azz over to get in the car.
I don't get it. I've already put 2k miles on my FRC since I bought it in September, and it only comes out a couple times a month. My last C5 I was averaging about 7-8k a year.
