I have a Corsa Indy Pro exhaust and I just received my Corsa X-pipe that I plan to install due to the same popping issue on de-acceleration. Since I am dropping the exhaust, I am also installing a thermal tunnel plate.
Does anyone know whether or not I need to remove the entire exhaust system back to the mufflers/tail pipes in order to install the X-pipe?

You won't need to remove your Corsa system from the axles back. They just unbolt and you can leave them there. The big thing you'll need to do when installing an X-pipe is that you need to cut your old H-pipe off just behind the downpipes, toward the front of the car. Measure twice, cut once!

Thanks! The shop that originally installed my Corsa exhaust welded the pipes so I'm not sure what other difficulties I am going to have when I try installing the X-Pipe. Another shop commented on that when I had my sway bars installed. Didn't matter much to me at the time, now I'm wondering if I will have difficulty with the X-pipe install.

I had that issue on my '00 with a B&B Route 66 system. I installed a Bassani X-pipe and I would say at least 95% of the popping, as well as the resonance I was experiencing, disappeared.

Did they weld them where they were just supposed to bolt up to the H-Pipe, or did they just weld them by the mufflers where they muffler pipe and over-axle pipes meet up? I've heard of people welding them at that location to make them less likely to move or shift, but it would be odd if they also welded them at the H-pipe because there are 2 heavy duty bolts and a nice sturdy flange there that makes connection really easy.
You may have difficulties if they welded to the H-pipe flange. Good luck!

There's that shop on 301, close to 12th street (I think) that did some decent work in the past. They are on the left side if your going towards Bradenton. I forgot the name of it but there are always hot rods in the front.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm going to roll her up on my Race Ramps this weekend to check out the welds. I know they are welded at the muffler/axle pipe as I can see them by looking under the car so perhaps that is the original reference. I agree it would be odd to weld them at the H-Pipe due to the existing bolts/clamps.
