Just had the front tie rods replaced and I am livid at the way i received my car back..... interior is covered in oil and dirt on both seats which tells me that someone had a hell of a time joyriding in it... hand prints and oil all over the front facia and hood... and floor mats stained with grease.... ahhhh want to kill someone right now :/

How about using the engery you used on this thread and take the car back before it is too late and have them clean it, If this really happend why did you take the car before telling them? I always give my car a look over before leaving any shop.
Good luck having them clean it, I am sure if you talk to the manager with a nice tone something will get done.

Sorry you feel that way, If it were me I would give them the chance to make it right. By not going back they have won and learned nothing.
Just my 2 cents.

I see it the same way as going to a restaurant and getting crappy food, i never send it back i rather never come back... Too many things can happen behind close doors and when you are not there. I cant keep an eye on these guys all day to make sure they do the right thing so i rather not risk it....

When you mention "joy-riding," one thing I learned a long time ago, pull in the garage, write down your "in" mileage. Of course depending on type of work being done on the car, there's always room for a mile (+,-) being added. Actually, now-a-days, take a photo of your mileage, that should show the date.
I truly feel for you. It seems I always have issues with the Vette too. Go back to the store (hoping it is a big dealership) talk to the general manager, don't let it sleep. Above all post the name of the dealership and share that fact with the gm. You have alot of power over them...use it! Do something so you can sleep. Rob

I personally wash about 95% of the cars we work on in our shop, sometimes one of the techs will wash it. I agree that there is no excuse to return a car filthy. You would be amazed at the condition some of the cars come in as - I had a black C6 Z06 today that was filthy. It left clean, and the owner appreciated the effort, but that is not always the case.
Unless you bring this to the shop owner's attention and give them a chance to make it right, it certainly isn't fair to slam the shop on this forum. If the shop owner tells you tough chit....well then that's a totally different matter.
I'm not making excuses for them, but there are times that extenuating circumstances occur. Give them one chance to make it right.

Sorry to hear about your issue, however I feel your pain today.
Came home today to find out that someone tore up the back wheel well/fender of my wife's 2-months new SUV. Apparently by the looks of the damage, it happened when someone backed out of a parking spot next to her. Not sure yet on the total amount of damage, however surprise, surprise, no note on the windshield!

Man, I feel your pain! In the 31 years we've lived in Minneapolis, we've endured at least 10 hit and run incidents -- from minor irritants to a couple of grand. NEVER HAD A NOTE. So, my friend, our fellow citizens have been dishonest scumbags for a long time!
Reminds me of this old axiom: All matter is damaged in direct proportion to its value. Solution: Drive a beater!
I've found that most techs view any car they're working on as "just another car". It makes no difference if it's a Ford or a Ferrari. I've always been **** about everything (probably way too much) I own and it drives me crazy to see how some of these guys treat cars when they work on them. I've been lucky to find a place where the tech is as passionate (and picky) about cars as I am, and he's the only one that ever works on it.
