Default Battery Hold downs missing ?

My c5 has no battery hold downs. No problem except the NHRA rules require that the battery is held down by at least 3/8 bolts. Did the Vette come with them (I am not original owner)? Thanks as usual.

Yes, my 2004 has a hold down clip that you tighten down the battery. Good chance the original owner dropped the tightening bolt when replacing the battery and instead of removing the lower battery tray and fishing it out, he/she probably just set the battery on the tray with no hold down.

There is a lip at the back of the tray (firewall side) that the battery lower foot lip slips under then the battery lays' flat, then the hold down clamp is installed.

The orignal hold down is legal if you don't relocate the battery,

And if the hold down foot is missing, you might be able to find a replacement at an auto parts store.

Yeah, it's a standard GM part. Grand Prix I have has the same plastic foot with a bolt through it.
