Default Cardinal Rule...

Dare I break it?

Here is the back story:
1999 C5 FRC stock catback
Daily driver
limited access to trails local unless friends drive their truck.

I bike a lot (pedal not motorcycle) and have recently picked up a bike rack for a steal that keeps the bikes upright and away from the vehicle, it has a 1 1/4" square hitch.

Over the winter I purchased a new mountain bike which I would like to get a lot of use in this year.

Should I put a hitch on the vette? I'm completely on the fence and feel like im committing a crime of sorts.

Let the insults roll....

Of course. Many people put hitches on their C5s to pull a small trailer to the race track.

It's your car. Do as you please.

It may affect resale value when it's time to sell, but it's not going to be a classic and increase in value in the foreseeable future.

Why not ?? It's your car and if it's useful, do it. I used a Delan hitch on my Z06 to haul a tire trailer for 2 years. Their receiver tucks up between the exhaust pipes and you can hardly see the rest.

Go for it. I was looking for surf racks a while back.

I approve... as if our opinion matters.

I'm considering adding a hitch to mine if I pick up a motorcycle in the near future. It'd be nice to be able to take it to the occasional track day.

Nothing wrong with a hitch, just don't wear those gay bicycle shorts.

No reason to ask us - if you want to carry bikes on the back of your car, go for it. And I've seen a number of Vettes with trailer hitches on them so you won't be breaking any new ground.

One of the members here,(Train man I think) had a trailer on his vette and towed one of those small rail road workman's hand cars behind it.
