I feel the same way, my boss has a 2009 Shelby GT500 and I park next to him everyday. The GT500 is quite a bit of fun to drive, however; I cannot get over the size of it. The C5Z06 looks miniscule by comparison, I feel like I wear the car when I drive it.
Challengers are nice looking, I wonder if they're as big to the general public though?
I find them monstrous because I drove a Z, and the challengers roof come up to my neck

I saw one of the new 392 Challengers in that lovely electric green today.
I think they've dropped the ride height alot, also the front airdams pull the lines of the car lower. It was the only one of the Pony cars I've seen that made me think, hmm, that's almost as pretty as the C5Z.
Then I looked at the specs, and it weighs 4200 pounds. So it's still a fat chick in a nice outfit...
If I wanted to see cars like that I can look at the 60's. Been done already...too bad America cant be a little more creative. The day the vette goes retro replay is the day I'm done.

There is nothing wrong with fat chicks in a nice outfit, well that is until you take that outfit off them
The "new" Pony's are quite different from Corporation to corporation. The Ford's Mustang, is a modern adaptation that gets it the closest, IMO. Especially that they finally got the DOHC to perform. The Camaro is the best looking, but only at a distance. Up close, the thing is huge! The Pentastar corp's is even larger. However, none of this, or the former generation compares to a C5Z. Different class of car.

Yeah, personally this is my biggest issue with these updated pony cars - weight. They're really aimed at a different market than the Corvette, though, so I can't blame them for failing to slim down to the low/mid 3k lb range.

Is your Z06 faster than that GT500, can you beat him in a race?
I like the retro throwbacks... They are modern versions of classic cars.
Sure, they are heavy as hell but it's not nice to limit the old farts to their stories of 440 six packs, boss 429s and SS camaros.. Every generation needs three big heavy muscle cars to fight over.

When his GT500 was stock, it felt rather sluggish, however it is a full bolt-on/pullied tuned car making 540 RWHP now. We have not lined them up, though he wants to head out to track soon. I have feeling if he can drive he will go right around me.
