Default Hood Insulator

I am wanting to remove my hood/engine compartment insulator so that I can paint it. I know others have done this. I need to know if when you re-install it do you need to use any kind/special adhesive? Any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated. My husband is getting mad because I spend so much money on this car so I am trying to make improvements that won't break the bank. The "Its an investment" excuse is getting weak

The hood insulator is held on by the plastic plugs. There is no adhesive required.

BTW, view this as a hobby, not an investment. Mods and cars depreciate.

If you mess up or break the plastic clip you can buy new ones at your local auto parts store. Tell your husband that a used car isn't a real good investment.

with all the above. Not hard to remove the hoodliner - just take your time and be gentle when pulling the plastic push plugs out.
