Regardless of the power your car makes, I'll change the way you feel about automatics!
344 with just a vararam is a little high. I know cars with cai and long tubes that dont hit that. 344?? 420 pounds of torque?? its not a big block. seems all your numbers are high. some way too high. your vararam has zero effect during a dyno run since are is not ramming up into your intake..you are standing still. No way I will swallow those numbers. I have been around the block many times so I absolutely believe those numbers of skewed. You should be 320 or 330 hp and 320 lbs of torque. sorry.

I was surprised myself but he pulled 3 times and all were around the same numbers
417 Max torque
420 Max torque
415 Max torque
I will do another dyno after I install longtube headers and tune the car
I'd put two possibilities - either a dyno that's not the norm and requires input from the user, resulting in bad numbers, or, and most likely ALSO:
The dyno operator may not have known how to properly dyno an automatic resulting in the high torque reading from the auto. That'd be my guess.
Since we never found out what the reason he said he couldnt dyno it, he probably was on a tach lead that was intermittent, and couldn't get a good signal.
Did the dyno shop specialize in imports by chance?
My first attempt to dyno was at an event and I believe the reason the dyno failed was due to what the tech called it pinging. I believe he meant misfiring. I replaced my sparks and wiring.
I then went to another place on Saturday different shop and location and there were no issues with the dyno, I mean the guy was able to go through the whole process.
Again I questioned the numbers but what do I know.....
He never dynod a corvette before that what he told me but he have done other cars like Mustangs, etc.
ALso when he did my vette we turned the A/C off and traction Off.
So far it seems from what I am reading that these numbers are not reaslistic.
When the Hot Rod Power Tour was in town a couple of weeks ago, I had mine 99 put on the dyno just to see what the numbers really were. Only mods are a VaraRam which is worthless on a dyno and a Corsa exhaust. 2 pulls netted 317 & 318 for HP and 325 & 333 for torque. So I feel your numbers are way off.

Going through the pics that I took and wanted to share some of them. I will need to find another place and do it again. I am so curious now to know what are the correct numbers if what I have now is not correct.
