OK, I have been researching tires for my '01 coupe. I currently have Falken on it. I have looked at either the Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport, the Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110, the Falken FK 452 or the Nitro NT 555.
Anybody running these (I am sure there are the Hankook and Nittro people out there)? If so where did you end up getting yours and how are do you like them.
I would like to hear people's thoughts on these tires as well! Good question. Another tire you may want to inquire about are the Nitto Invo's.
I'm running Kumho Ecsta SPT's. I know you didn't ask about these but thought I would put my impression just in case you thought about them. Good tires in the rain but leave a bit to be desired in dry traction.
I am a big fan on Hankooks. I have had a set on my 450HP truck for 6 seasons (approx 42K) and there is still over 60% tread left. Launch, wear, cost, and noise are all excellent. Wet performance is fair - good.
Just put a set on my 03 Coupe and really like them so far. I haven't driven in the rain yet.....40% quieter than the stock rf's that I took off.
NT-555s on an '01 vert. Wet/dry grip is good, pretty predictable tires. Obviously less expensive then runflats, and I also carry a portable compressor/sensor safe fix a flat/plug kit now.
I have been going to Discount Tire for well over a decade. They always provided good pricing and excellent service after the sale.
I started with the GY F1 EMTs, then two sets of Michelin PS A/S ZPs, and now these Nitto's.
I'll comment on road noise once I get these rear wheel bearing assemblies replaced!
I have been running Hankooks for almost a year now on my daily driver. They handle great in the rain, and on dry pavement. I will be putting on another set once these are finished, which shouldn't be any time soon.
Bought some CCW wheels, that had Hankook Ventus V12s on them, from a forum member and have been running them for about 3 months now. I am very pleased with their performance so far.
My wife's C6 has Nitto Invos, and they also perform very well. Both sets have seen rain, but were not pushed very hard. They always felt planted and secure for such wide (V12s are 305s and the Invos are 345s - rear) tires in wet conditions.
When replacement time comes we will be buying either one of these, whichever is the best deal at the time.

I am running the Hankook Ventus V12s on mine now in 19" front and rear. Got them from Discount Tire Direct (was the cheapest price and included free shipping + great customer service). I really like the tires - very low road noise, nice comfortable ride, and good handling/traction. I'd buy another set.
Thanks for all the input and it seems like the Hankook are the ones to go with.
I started looking at the Bridgestone Potenza, but it seems like no one here is running them and they are the most expensive @ $694 and the Hankook @ $610, both at Tire Rack. The Nittro's are $634 at Discount Tire Direst. They also wanted more for the Hankook then Tire Rack.
Nitto for the win.. I love my nt555s on my Zo6 and I run Nitto invos on my Z28 both are great tires. The invos are great for my DD and the drags on my vette have been awesome so far just can't drive in the rain

I am looking at the Nitto 555's and the Hankook V12's too. I have a set of the Nitto 555's on my 99 now and like them.
Also the Tire Rack price you need to add shipping, while the Discount Tire Direct price includes shipping. Usually both sites are pretty close when you compare the delivered prices.

Come on! Hanhook, Falken and Nitro are LOW rated tires, not for a Corvette. Go LOOK at Consumer Reports. Highest ranked UP tires were Cooper Zeon RS3-S (summer). In November, I purchased ONLINE a matching set of 4 for a 2001 coupe. I paid $554.42 (incl freight, rebate, no tax) and they came from Treadepot in Ellenwood, GA. These tires are SO quiet and excellent so far. (shop for local installation...I paid $75 to balance and install the set.)

Thanks for the info and I respect your comments, but I have never been overly impressed with Consumer Reports. Besides I have had Falken on my '01 since I bought it 6 years ago. The car is not a daily driver and seems a lot of members that have been on the forum for some time now like the tires mentioned.
I had the nitto 555 on the stock wheels and i thought they were amazing compared to the stock tires. I recently bought new wheels and tires and i now have the nitto invos and they are amazing compared to the 555. I must admit to me they dont look as nice but ever part of that tire has function and hooks up great in any situation. I love nitto as a brand overall and honestly wouldnt go with anything else. Personally i think the performance you get for the price is honestly unbeatable. in my opinion either one you go with will be great as long as its a nitto.
When I bought my '02 it had 24k miles and a brand new set of the [Bridgestone Potenza RE-760's replacing the GY runflats. They ride very nice, corner good, work well in rain and are fairly quiet. I will definitely look at them again for a replacement as they also appear to hold up pretty good. With 10k miles on them they still measure 8 - 9/32nds tread depth.
They were purchased from Tire Rack and installed by a local tire shop per the previous owner's records.
