I have an 01 with active handling currently running a 19/20 combo. tires are 275/30/19(nitto invo) in front and 305/25/20(yokohama advan sport) in rear. If it will work i want to run a 285/30/19 (invo) in the front and a 315/35/20 (nt05) in the rear. i did read the Sticky on tires but didnt make much sense to me.

Your current combination is 25.6 OD front and 26 OD rear, barely within the .5 inch minimum recommended rake.
The combo you are asking about will give you a 25.8 OD front and a 28.7 OD rear, past the recommended 1.5 inch max rake.
If it were me I would stick with matched brand tires to start with.
When you have 700 rwhp it's hard to find tires that get traction. I ran all invo's and traction was not bad but could be Better so I want to run a drag radial. The advans I have on there now were just to see if a harder tire would last longer. Ended up being a waste of money as I just would spin them with ease and I honestly think the invo's lasted longer.

You can also look on a site like the Tire Rack - they have the specs on all their tires which includes the overall diameter of the tire. Then just subtract the front from the rear specs and see what you come up with.
