Don't recall seeing any posts here on the forum about someone converting their car to E-85, but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened. Will be interesting to see if anyone has done it.
Not on the Vette, but when I had my 944 turbo I was running e-85 and 20psi boost. I don't think you really save any money using it, cause you need about 20%-30% more fuel. But it allows you to increase boost in FI applications with a lower risk of detonation than gasoline. Smells better too, IMO.
Not really worth the hassle unless you want to boost the compression ratio (like 11-12 to one) or cylinder pressure(boost) in order to take advantage of it. Otherwise you are going to burn much more fuel for no appreciable gain.
I am running E85 on my C5 but I am also boosted, It worked out great for me. No detonation and runs cool. Yes it will use more fuel but I filled up today for $3.14 a gallon so it will not save you money at the pump. If you had a very high compression motor it would be more worthwhile.
I would LOVE to run E85, but there aren't any gas stations around that sell it. California has the least 85 stations than all of the other continental 48 states.
Stupid, IMHO, since we're supposed to be the hippies and considering that we have the most flex-fuel vehicles.

That surprises me. I live in a pretty small town and there is a E85 station right down the road.

Any small town with a farming community will more than likely have E-85, after all, those farmers did lobby for it or support it. Funny we grew the wrong crop, but $$$ was more important.

Im sure bigger injectors to make up for the 30% fuel increase. Dual 255 fuel pumps or at least a 255 with a boost-a-pump at the minimum. Not sure if he has upgraded rails or lines as that would depend on the power he is making. If you have HP Tuners it is a few simple adjustments and you car is done and ready to run E-85.

I have heard most of brazil and other countries are very big into ethanol.

Yep, they are they use Sugar Cane and Hemp. If we could grow Hemp legally here in the, US Farmers would be millionaires over night from how easy it is too grow and would help drive down the cost of food and gas. But politics play into why that is happening.

In red above. If I want any more power I need a bigger pump and more injector. Currently running 96lbs injectors.
