Default Help with washer

Hi guys,

I've been having problem with my windshield washer lately. Hope its might just be something stupid but I cant figure it out.

The washer doesn't pump water so my first though was either a clogged tube or messed up water pump. I disconnected the tubes and blew through them and they are clear. I disconnected the pump and checked if it was getting electricity and my multimeter read 12V at the terminal. Finally I just decided to change the pump.

Still nothing, so i hooked up the pump (both old and new) direct to battery and they spin fine. When connected to the harness they don't spin yet I am reading 12 volts on the line???

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Well if you are getting 12v at the pump it must be the ground at the pump, Did you check the ground?

Thanks!

I check the ground and had continuity with chassis. I hooked up my multimeter inline with the pump straight to battery and was pulling 4.5 amps. The I did the same connecting it through the harness and it would only pull 0.25 amps.

I am pretty sure it has to be the control circuit board on the wiper motor which also controls the washer pump.

Gonna take it to the dealer and have them change the motor.

Thanks for the help.
