I am looking at two types of wheels for my C5. Tirerack's Sport Muscle Z06 in chrome or Discount Tire Direct's Cray Scorpion in polished alum with black accents. Big difference in pricing with Tirerack's set being around $890 shipped and DTD;s set about $1680 shipped. I am unfamiliar with the manufacturers or where they are made. Is one worth twice as much? Is the caveat, "you get what you pay for," true in this case? Any suggestions as to other sources for wheels/tires/tpm's? Thanks for your help.

not even the same wheel to compare
The quality of the Cray Scorpian is much better than the reproductions.
If you wanting a black center Scorpian in 17/18 I have them for 999.99 shipped as well
A lot of the cheaper wheels are made in China (big surprise!) and are junk metal. If you look at trade sites you can get them for $50 - $100 each. The only way to make something like a wheel so cheap all the way from China is to cut corners. Sometimes you do get what you pay for.

You mean like the crays are?
Im confused why everyone is hating on the one wheel but madly in love with crays? The cray are a reproduction wheel company that manufactures in china and generally weigh more then stock.

Not to be a smart azz but can you show proof as I like these and if they are I wont buy them
Just do a search there is more evidence. Just because something is made specifically for the corvette doesnt mean it is good, much less better then something else.
