Thanks
Straight forward install,

They should fit to stock cat back no problem, only thing you would be loosing out on is if you would want to go to a 3" cat back in the future as the stock cat backs are 2-1/2".

The X pipe is 3" that will be reduced down to 2-1/2"

FYI: My XS power cat backs are 2 1/2" , I don't think there is any real power loss running 2-1/2" cat backs unless you make BIG power

Thanks for the info. So if I go an order the ARH 1 7/8 i have to make sure the x-pipe is 2 1/2 to fit my stock mufflers and i will make sure when i upgrade my mufflers down the road i will get 2 1/2 that not an issue. How long the install takes is that a whole day thing if there is a lift and the necessary tools.

By the way I live of Friedensthal Avenue and Tatamy road

Default Spark Plugs

I m looking to order spark plugs NGK TR55's......part number 3915 but i get they are not compatible with my car and i should be getting NGK TR5. I read the forum and i know other vette owners are using.

Can anyone confirm that i just want to make sure i get the correct one. I believe the difference is the gap one the former is i believe 0.055 and the latter is 0.04.

Any clarification on this is greatly appreciated. I ofcourse would prefer getting the ngk tr5 because Autozone has it, the tr55 i have to order online

Headers and a cam will give you a nice hp gain.

The BigDog
but he is on a budget. Nothing is more fun than a turbo car though.

The stock TI exhaust starts becoming restrictive at about 500rwhp. I just had my car on the dyno today and when I had the cutouts open, I gained 15rwhp. This is in a 550rwhp nitrous C5Z, on a dyno jet it makes around 600-625. Every bit makes a difference, that is why I am all for the 1 7/8.

To the OP....

I would run a BR7EF plug, it is a colder plug and your tuner will be able to throw some more timing in it, the colder the plug you can use and the more usable timing there is, the more power will be generated.

And just to clear things up you will want the 3" X-pipe that merges at the end to a 2.5" so that you can bolt it right up to your factory cat-back exhaust or any other exhaust that utilizes 2.5". And solid choice on the ARH 1 7/8, same as I have and I love them.

A question about the ARH I am looking at them and the option are w CATS and No CATS. Is NO CATS means OFF Road. So I will need the with CATS option right?

Second question if I get the 1 7/8" the X-Pipe is 3"X3" but I need 3 X 2 1/2" to be able to attach it to my stock mufflers. The 3 X 2 1/2" X-pipe comes with the 1 3/4" option or at least thats what I am finding out.

I would get cats so you won't have to mind the smell, and yes off road is a cattless X-Pipe. And you want the 3 X 2 1/2, you can run 1 3/4 or 1 7/8 but I would go big (1 7/8) for the future.

That was my intention to go for 1 7/8 which was recommended to me by other members and thats way I can go big down the road.

Thanks

So I have been looking into replacing my stock headers, exhaust. ARH (1 7/8 with a 3 X 2.5 x-pipe) was recommended so been looking into. I also found other brands like BBK, etc ofcourse I would like to have your comments of what you have and what you think and if there are any difference other than $$......

Also on a side note I just got a 160 T-thermostat and was wondering will the car throw errors or have issues if I install it without reprograming the on/off fan temp.....The reason I ask is I want to tune once after I am done with my header/x-pipe/muffler upgrade. So will the car perform normally

Thanks

BBK is not worth the upgrade LS6 is fine and puts down great numbers. And wait till you get the tune for the 160* thermo. As you have to reprogram the fans.
