Thought the forum members would find this information interesting: Customer Service from Eckler's is lousy! my wife bought me a jacket from them prior to Xmas and paid extra for "rush" shipping. the jacket arrived at the end of April!! I wear XL and the jacket was barely a large. I sent it back and paid $17 for shipping. After two emails and no response, I called today. They started out by saying my credit card was credited for the cost of the jacket. What about the shipping, i asked. Sorry, we dont do that. I said, get your supervisor on the line. After being on hold for 5 minutes, the rep came back and said, we'll give you $15 back. Not quite the $21 they owe me, but i guess something is better than nothing. The bottom line is, "buyer beware".
From: Should this thoughtful, valuable contribution meet with no acknowledgement or 'thanks' this post----
funny you should post this.....I am awaiting a refund...hope to hell I get it. They received the item on the 5th. I'll give them 3 weeks tops....then it's charge back time.
No bargains to be had and sub-par customer service at best, not to mention items are frequently out of stock. You are better off shopping the vendors on this forum as I had never had a problem with availability or service from them and always come out ahead in price.
I guess I've been lucky, I've never had any problem with them.
I've dealt with many, many times and never a single hitch. But you know these things run in cycles when a company either needs to fill a position of elevates someone from a different department and come into a perfectly running fine department and decide to change this and that to save a buck here or there.
There's one vendor in CT. who I told that I'd fill the foot-wells with gasoline and set the car on fire before ever, ever bought a damn thing from his A&^% company. It's all in time, they'll get better, Corvette Central had shipping problems a while back and once they dumped the deadwood things sharpened right up. I've always had good luck with Ecklers, but the prices for ANYTHING for a corvette costs twice anywhere else. I guess that's why it's called the "Corvette Tax" ?
Agreed!! Do Not shop at Ecklers. They post their 15% sales on the Internet then do not provide a spot for entering the code when ordering!
I tried entering it in the free scroll at the end but was still billed for the full amount. Recently I called their cusotmer service?? for guidance and they were less than helpful. I have spent a great amount of $$ restoring my 69 vette this year but rest assured I won't be "donating" any mote to Ecklers.
Wow. I have only made a few purchases over the years from Ecklers, however never had any problems. I just ordered the GM OEM rear plate frame and some other small hardware this week and received the package 2 days later. I was actually impressed that I received the items before my credit card was even charged.
I've bought quite a few things from them over the years (more early on when I first got my car 2003 thru 2007) & have never had an issue. Being somewhat local I have also been there in person + attended local shows, never had an issue.
I also order from "Rick's Camaro" which is basically what they call their camaro parts business & again never had an issue.
My ONLY knock on them is the same as Mid-America, their prices are on the high end of the market.
Never purchased from them, always seems folks having issues with them, plus their prices are usually too high.
I like to support our vendors on the forum, with their $$ keeping the forum alive and well.
Always a shame to hear folks getting poor service, amazing in these economic times how some companies just keep on going..........
Wow. I manage a speed shop here in NY (not currently a vendor here....yet) and it really isn't common knowledge among most places that customer service is top priority. I know me and my team strive for 100% not only because it is the right thing to do, but because you (the customer) can buy most things from 100 different stores at the same price, so why choose me right? So for 20 something dollars that is rightfully yours, after you patiently waited months for an item that was wrong, they lost you, most of your friends, and some forum members reading this thread as a customer. Sounds good, right vendors?? Sheesh, some places need to take note because there are some ultra superior vendors we can get parts from that actually care! If I get on here as a vendor you will see that from me as well
I'm the person who started this thread, and want everyone to know that Eckler's went the extra mile after I complained. The customer service manager, Steve, called me an aplogized for the breakdown and even gave me $30 gift card. I've gotten stuff since the original incident, and there were no problems. I'd encourage forum members to give Eckler's another try. Jim
Thanks but no thanks. Their customer service is just too disappointing. I vote with my dollars and ecklers lost my vote. I have 3 Vettes and won't shop there again. There are too many good suppliers that I have dealt with that provide the support and service that deserves my business.
I stopped using Ecklers, cause when I ordered they say in stock, and later find out not in stock, and have to order.
Of the 10's of thousands of dollars (I started to type the real amount but started to cry) I've spent with vendors, Eckler's has gotten not $.01. Their history is horrible.
