After several months of reading reviews and listening to video clips of just about every exhaust out there, I could not be happier with the GHL's I chose.
My Z already had TPIS lontubes, high flow cats, Halltech CAI and a tune. I wanted just a bit more than the stock Ti's but not obnoxious and no drone. The GHL's sound amazing and are quiet under normal driving then sound wicked at WOT. I actually seem to have less cabin noise than the Ti's with the longtubes?
Quality, fit and finish were top notch and Jeff from GHL was great to deal with. Thanks again Jeff!
I installed myself last night and did not cut the Ti's as I want to keep them. I was done in about 1.5hr.
If anyone is trying to make the exhaust decision I HIGHLY recommend GHL as many others here have.
PS: TOQUE was one of the deciding factors for me as his car sounded amazing and lots of feedback from him on exhaust systems. Thanks TOQUE.

Glad you like them !
I'm even more glad I did not steer you wrong in suggesting them to you.
I also find them to be the best bang for the $$ too ! Not many other exhausts have no drone (except Corsa). But you pay big $$ for Corsa because they are GM licensed.
Wait till you add a cam..... WOW !!! The "crack-crack-crack" sound of a cam thru the GHL's is just sexy !!! Still no drone and can easily talk to your passenger, or chat on the phone.
Thanks for the write up, that was one of them more useful write ups Ive seen on an exhaust. How do the tips line up? One of my big problems with a lot of aftermarket exhaust systems, besides the drone, was the fact that the tips frequently didnt sit level, and even if they did, stuck out significantly past the rear bumper, which in my humble opinion, looks like crap. I really want an exhaust that sounds great but looks like the factory system.
Ive been looking at these. I had Borla Stingers on my other Z06 and loved them. Best sounding exhaust Ive heard on a Z, but I want to do something a little different with this Z. Is this exhaust quiet? Does it make it sound like an F-body or still an exotic note to the exhaust?

Here is a video I put together showing the Borla Stingers, and the GHL Bullets.
Both car's 2004 Z06's. Same heads/cam package with long tubes, high flow cats etc.
Sound is very subjective, but to me the Borla "muffles" the sound of the cam. The GHL's are much more "crisp" sounding and really brings out the sound of the cam. Much more of a pronounced "crack-crack-crack" cam sound with the GHL's.
The Borla's drone where the GHL's in my experience do not drone.
Congrats on the GHLs. I too have a set and thanks go to Toque. I've had my tips powder coated black since I have a black Z. I love it and I seem to get a lot of compliments on them. I don't think it's for everyone, but I got real tired of cleaning the tips every time I took it for a drive. I loved them shiny and couldn't stand to see them dirty. Odd reason to have them painted black, but at least it's purposed.
I second the sound these make w/ lth and a cam. I thought I liked them before, but after the cam it's something so much different and better.
It's probably the way I am hearing the video. In person, the GHL's may very well sound better to me. I haven't done anything to my stock Z yet but will be soon. I am hoping to hear a lot of different cams and exhausts at Carlisle this year so I can make some decisions.

My only advice when your looking is to make sure you know which ones drone. If your into drone, then so be it. If you don't like drone, then make sure you do your homework to find out which ones have good enough engineering in them to eliminate drone. Borla is known for drone at cruising speeds. I have no drone in my GHL's that I can hear. I have also had Corsa touring on my car and they don't drone. My friends car has Corsa Sport/Indy and they don't drone. I first had B&B Bullets on my car and the drone was crazy.

Good point. I def don't want drone at cruising speed. That would suck and that rules out Borla Stingers.
I love the sound of mine too through XSPower longtubes with Hiflow cats. Honestly, I was disappointed as the flanges didn't line up at all and the fitment was terrible. The shop who did my install ended up cutting off the flanges and tigged them directly to the x pipes. Once I heard them, I was ok with it as I will never take them off as long as I own my Z. But it certainly made me question the quality that others have raved about.

True story, for sure. I also noticed that the flanges were half the thickness of flanges on the XSpower headers. Someone emailed Jeff about the issue on my behalf and he never bothered responding to me. The best tuner in Central FL was doing the install. When I told him they were GHLs, he said, "Damn, they used to be a great company". Regardless, they sound amazing with a great decel pop and burble. Absolutely the best true muscle car tone. Mark is right, there is no drone whatsoever.
