I ordered a set of the two tone from VetteStripes a few years back, but never put them on. The instructions for installing them was to place the first piece 6" from the headlight opening. A space of 1" is in between the stripes, but I don't have them any longer, so I cannot tell you how wide they are, but I believe the second stripe is wider then the first.

I realize it is the owners option on the stripes, but if you are going to put a set on, at least make sure you install them in a size that has appeared on the 1996 GS or the C6 GS. My opinion only of course, it is your car so do what pl;ease you not me or anyone else.

Go to a sign shop, get them to cut the stripes using commercial grade vinyl and have them install them. Here is a pic of the measurements for the stripes I had on my '00:
I just plastic dipped mine, just do what looks good to you. I placed the leading edge at 4 1/2 inches from the headlight and 3" stripe with 3/4" gap and 4" trailing stripe and I'm satisfied.

Thank you for the dimensions, that is what I needed. All the pic in this post has been a great help.
