OK did it. I took the console apart and resoldered the little thingies that needed soldering. When you have jittery hands it makes it a lot more difficult. I put it back together and so far it works.
2000 C5 auto.
Yes it was the lights worked but were vvery dim. So I got out the old souldering iron and the instructions posted here on he forum, a couple of points were missing, removing connectors, but figured them out and proceeded. My circuit board layout was different then the one shown, but figured out where I need to soulder and .....well it worked.
While I had the console cover off I dye sprayed my leather shifter boot and emergency brake boot gray to add more contrast to the interior, seats and carpet are gray with black dash. Also have sprayed the cushion top of the console and the door handle bezels to match. Getting there and making it my own.
What ever you call them, they light up in the panel, digital digits, lights, whatever they are they work now. LOL
That's what I was saying, mine doesn't have anything that would or could light up. I just thought it was strange that the same year would have two different systems.
The instructions that are here on the Forum, were good, but there is a difference in the circuit boards. I don't know what year the one in the instructions is, but it is diffenitly different then mine. a 2000 but the over all system is the same.
What's the link to the thread? I need to do this myself. Some of my lights went super dim after I had to pull the controls out during my audio equipment installation.
