Now if you have an early C5, that is another story. I have yet to see an early ESBM fixed. Replacement seems to be the only way to go. And Chevrolet doesn't sell these, you need to find one in a junkyard.
just had my a/c module repaired...$74, free shipping both ways, 1 day turn...lifetime warranty

ABSFixer is highly recommended all over this site though I didn't know of them at the time.

And yes this can but not always be the case. They are sensitive but it does happen and is worth a shot to look at.
Thanks,Matt

Mine would come on, I would reset it and then it would come back randomly.
Pulled the codes, got C1287, replaced the steering wheel position sensor and all good since then.

I believe the 1214 usually means the EBCM is failing. I would keep an eye on it and be ready to ship it off to ABSFixer. Clear the codes and drive the car hard once or twice (enough to trigger traction control) and see what happens.

In front of the engine on the driver's side. Do a search and you will find a guide to remove it.

This is true for 1998 1/2 (Late year) - 2004 it is in the front
For 1997-1998 1/2 (Early Year) it is located in the rear!
Thanks,Matt

His avatar looks like a Z06, so I assumed he had a later EBCM
