Recently I purchased a coolant surge tank from my local Chevy dealer and received a GM-licensed, white vinyl Chevy emblem as a bonus. They discontinued the decals and the parts guy just wanted to get rid of them; he noticed I have a white Vette so he gave me one. It's not a solid decal, is about 10-12 inches long , 6 inches tall, and the vinyl is about a 1/2 inch wide all the way around with a hollow center. Basically a typical Chevy symbol in white.
I'm undecided whether or not I want to put this emblem near the top of my hatch glass to cover the small area where the tint doesn't stick well because of the raised dots on the glass, which is an unavoidable problem. I can't make up my mind, so I thought I'd get some opinions?
Since your car is white, that might not look too bad really.
Most here will say "no stickers" of any sort on a 'Vette...or that's been the sentiment I've seen in the past here. Lay it on the glass with the backing still on and post a pic.
I've always wondered why GM didn't put any Chevy emblems on such an important Chevrolet product.
edit: When/if this request for opinions "goes South", just remember you asked specifically for "opinions"
It's a little difficult to see because it has backing on both sides to protect the vinyl until it's put on and the sticky side is exposed first, but if you look closely you can see the decal under the backing.

Heck, just stick it on there and see how it looks after a few days. If you like it, keep it. If not, easy to take off. It just might look OK there.
The thing is that if I decide not to use it I'm going to put it on my laptop (I don't have enough spare space on my toolbox for a decal that large). If I put it on the car first it'll be ruined when it's taken off.
Okay then....the pic helps but not for "my" final opinion. Since you don't want to ruin it....just trace it out on a regular piece of paper, cut it out.....place it on the car where you want it and then see what you think. If you want, post another pic, but of the whole car...a 3/4 shot from the rear so we can see.

tankyouberrymuch....
That's a good idea. I'll do this after I eat lunch and pick the kiddo up from school. She'll have fun tracing the design and cutting it out.
Don't worry about the ones that believe no one can add anything to their own car. If you like it that is all that matters. If we all followed the strict rules of some of the members this would be a very dull place and besides what would we have to talk about. Of course we all know that the Corvette is a Chevrolet product, but putting on a simple Bowtie emblem will not kill anyone. Besides have you ever seem a Roush Mustang. He signs those cars all over the place, then that have it on the side, across the windshield and a lot of the owners put Roush hats on the back package tray just in case we have not noticed that it is a Roush.

Thanks TR, I feel the same way. I've always be one to go my own way instead of following along with the sheep. It's funny you mention the Roush though, because my car decision was down to a charcoal gray Roush or the Vette, and me being the Chevy guy I am, and the Vette being what it is, obviously the Vette won.
I took the earlier suggestion and snapped a couple of pics of a piece of paper cut out in the same dimensions as the decal. Seeing it on the car I'm actually liking it a lot more:
IMHO, I wouldn't put it on. It clashes with the C5 logo on the decklid. Vinyl decals make me think of a rear window on a pickup or a truck cap with 20 Nascar stickers and numbers plastered all over it! Leave it clean and classy!
