Chirping coming from A/C compressor?
I had my A/C compressor replaced at the dealership back in January and I'm thinking it might be a faulty part.
My question is what part of the compressor would cause the sound to get louder when the A/C is engaged?

In your case it could be a bad compressor they replaced, or the tensioner or the idler pulley or even possibly a bad belt. But I would hope they changed the belt when they replaced the compressor. That's pretty standard procedure when they do something like that or it should be anyway.
Take off your belt, for your AC and see if the sound goes away. Or take it back and tell whoever replaced it that it's chirping.

Should not be happening! Could be another pulley though!

The "theory of recency" would point you in the direction of the last part replaced, which is the compressor. Of course, it could easily be the tenioner, the belt, or all of the above. The only advantage of having your car worked on at the dealership, IMHO, is that you have a warranty of some sort, implied or actual! USE IT. Good Luck.

However when they took it off they could have messed up the tensioner, ( I doubt it though) But this seems odd. However it could very well be a different part went bad and totally unrelated. I have had that happen to me more than once and of course I swore it was the previous repair when it wasn't. Just a new problem. He needs to take it back and have them check it to make sure.
In my case I had the GM techs look at mine today. (from GM mind you) They said it was either the tensioner or the idler, so it's best to replace both at the same time.
replaced both. Chirp still there. No coolant leak, or loss of fluid at all. But they said it could be the water pump. Took off the drive belt and the problem went away. so it is the drive belt area.
They even put a stethoscope on it and said it wasn't bad enough to locate.
What? I can here the thing inside the car, what do you mean it's not loud enough to tell where it's coming from?Oh well, they said to check in everyday with them if it gets worse. So now what do I do?
These things aren't worth the hassle imo.

It's a crying shame I can diagnose an issue with my limited knowledge and trained professionals get that goober thing going on without a computer to guide them.Good grief, wth? I also think my tensioner may be bad but it's not totally shot, however something is causing an alignment issue and I will find out what it is I know that, I won't rest until I do.
But in your case why in the hell did someone change a compressor on your car and not change the belt? Makes no sense whatsoever. You may also want to recheck your belt pulley's alignment. Something is making it out of whack, or it could just be your belt is shot and they didn't change it. If your compressor was acting up it most likely fried your belt as well.
Just my 2 cents.
I checked the water pump and I noticed chalky white lines running down the face of the pump, consequently dripping down onto the a/c belt and ruining it.
After I replace the pump and the belt again I should be home free
