I just installed clear corners & was curious if they were subject to hazing/clouding over as they age as many lights are nowadays. Are there any products I could apply to prevent it from happening??
Where did you buy the clears from?
Iv never had a problem with them hazing.
Also mine sleeps in garage an never see rains.
Not sure if that's a factor or not but no problems here.
I dont think so, Ive had mine for a couple of years still in great shape.
I usually just wipe em with the rag Im taking the wax off the car with (just a small waxing) and even if they did start looking a little aged, its easy to correct.
Been detailing my 2003 truck for sale. Did not treat the truck like the vette so the lights/lenses were not bad but didnt look brand new. One pass with 3M light cut liquid polish by hand (the grey stuff in the black bottle) and they look like new...crystal clear.
I've had clear corners on now for about two years and DD my Vette. The lenses will take on some road rash just as any clear lens on the front will. Mine started to discolor a little and have some pits and scratches from just normal driving, so I bought Meguiar's Heavy Duty Headlight Restoration Kit. What I did was remove the corners in order to polish them, just seemed a lot easier than taping out the paint around the lenses and I was able to do a better job since I was really able to polish the whole lens. It's a multi part process that starts by sanding the lens till its nice and smooth, then sand again with a finer grit. Apply the polishing cream and buff it with the buffer that you put on your drill and finally apply a protective sealant on them. After I was done the lenses were as crystal clear and perfect as they were when they were new. The job takes about two hours and thats incuding the time it took me to remove and reinstall the corners and I have plenty of product left to do it again a few more times. Well worth the money at about $30.00. I now will make this my spring thing to do every year to keep the lenses looking like new.
