Default Z51 Package questions

I just bought my present '99 coupe two weeks ago, tomorrow, out of state. Therefore, I am looking at Sales Taxes and registration later this month $$$$$. As a result, I am going to have to wait a little while before I can get reproduction copies of the build sheet and Monroney sticker for my car from the NCM.

I am trying to figure out just what options my car has beyond the obvious ones. I was reading the previous thread about the Z51 suspension package and checked my power steering cooler. I do have the "finned" cooler! So, does that mean that my car for sure has the Z51, and, can anyone give me an accurate listing of just what all that would include on a '99 coupe?

Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated!!

Here is a listing of all the options codes... If you look inside your glove box you will see the options that it came with from the factory on a rectangular white sticker... Z51 is an option code and if the car was build with it, it will be displayed there. I also believe there is a website where you can plug your VIN in and it will tell you what options the car has but I am not sure of what the site is. But try here for the options codes:

Bummer!! I went and checked the glove box sticker and it is completely illegible due to glove box items rubbing against it for thirteen years!

Also figured out that Z51 is the code, can anyone give a listing of what is included in the package?

If anyone knows the link ZR-1Mike00 was talking about where you can punch in your VIN to get a list of options, that would be awesome!!!

The Corvette Museum will sell you a reproduction window build sheet listing all coded components. I think it was about $10.
Just send them your VIN.

Just trying to verify that it does already have the Z51 as another thread on here was talking about the "finned" power steering cooler being an exclusive part of that package (which I do have). My last C5 had the F55 suspension so I'm not sure how stiff the standard suspension is, but mine feels like an upgraded suspension.

The main thing that is making me wonder all of this is that this car seems to pull a lot harder (3.15's ?) than my old one, rides stiffer and corners flatter than my other one (even in comp. mode), etc.

I guess what I'm getting at is that I think this one already has most of the expensive things that I wanted to do to my other one!!!

Next month I will be able to order all of the documentation from the NCM, but dang it..... I want to know now! (We need a spoiled brat emoticon.)

Drive to your local Chevy dealership. They will be happy to run your VIN for options especially if you are "looking" at a new Z06!

So is the option code sticker in your glove box completely erased ??

Checked mine, the Z51 code is on the last line of the code bars and is the 5th code in from the right.

Unfortunately, yes. Everything is either smudged beyond recognition or completely erased.

Oh well, if my Chevy dealer can't do it as was also suggested by SilverBullet00, I'll just have to wait.

However, either way, this one far outperforms my previous one and that's the important thing, right?!?!

Thanks for trying to help guys! Much appreciated!

Just take your VIN to the dealer and ask them to print out the option listing for your car. Shouldn't take them but a few minutes.

I'm not sure if this is the right one but this is another site like that... Not sure how accurate/secure it is though: http://www.decodethis.com/ or this http://www.decodevin.com/

No pun intended but I believe there is an App for that as well.... IF you have an Apple there is an app called "VIN Hunter" and it gives basic info on the car I'm not sure if it includes specifics like options...
(BTW not an Apple guy... DROID RAZR MAXX all the way!!)

Thanks, but the Z51 suspension package was not exclusive to FRC's, it was just standard on them.

And, yes, I can tell the difference between a coupe and an FRC!!!

Thanks for the comment though, NOT!!!!
