Sorry that it happened, see if the police will take a hit and run complaint.
Hopefully you have your witnesses name and number, you may need a written statement.
Some people are real dirtbags
Good luck with the repairs
Sonny
That's awesome that the lady saw and followed and was able to get a plate number! It's nice to see that there are still good samaritans out there to offset some of the loser d-bags. Let us know how it all works out.
This is the only bad thing I have seen about living in FL so far. Too many hit and runs. Normally they are by 90 year olds that still think they are home on their couch watching Matlock and not paying attention to what they are doing. On base here during the snow bird season there is a hit and run and the commissary, the BX, or the pharmacy at least once a week.
If you were seventy five feet away from the nearest car, it almpost seems like they went out of their way intentionally to hit your corvette!! That, or as someone else mentioned, some neardead who can hardly see over the dashboard of their car and has lost any hand eye coordination they may have once had!!!! We hear these types of stories weekly here in Florida!!! I hope the police arrest them !!! Seems like down here, the police won't do anything about anything short of murder and sometimes not even then!!!!! Good luck with your repairs!!
That sucks big time! Lucky lady and daughter took the time and interest to get the plate number. Keep us posted on what the cops say..and I wonder if your insurance co. can r will go after them??

We've lived in the Mpls/St. Paul area for 31 years. Over that time we've probably had about a dozen hit and runs -- all the way from irritating to pretty damn major. Never had a note -- ever. People everywhere have sucked for a long, long time.

Rare indeed...it's nice to see the human condition hasn't totally deteriorated, and there are people who still have morals and are willing to give a hand.
Stalion said it "RARE" thanks to the lady that went out of her way to help you!!!
I hope things worked out for you. I was in this same situation in a Hooters parking lot in Texas but I watched it happen and had to chase the guy down and call the police. I was told by the police that since it happened in the parking lot it was on private property and they would not even make a report. I was smart enough to turn on my recorder on my smart phone and got the guy to own up to hitting my car, so as soon as I played it for his insurance company they were willing to pay for the damages. I was lucky.
I always wonder if its better to park in Syberia and draw attention to the car or if its better to just park at a moderately safe distance and take chances. Either way its good to know some people are there to help if they see that. Good luck
Also request any possible security-cam footage that will prove the car was in fact in the lot. Otherwise, they will probably lie and claim they were not there.
Ah that is terrible, but at least that woman had the decency to follow and get the plates. I had something similar happen last year to me, but nobody saw anything or left a note. Car was parked by itself at the grocery store. I come out and notice my driver side mirror was pushed back and there was scuffs on the paint from a black bumper and there was about 8-10 cracks in the paint where the car made contact. Shop told me 800-1000 to repair. For now I am waiting to have it fixed as I would like to have the whole car resprayed in a year or so.
Last year I was walking to my car, across the street I see a ugly Volvo doing burnouts etc in front of a closed restaurant/bar. The next thing I see is the car rams the only car in the parking lot. First I think is that idiot really screwed up big time. Then he backs up holds the brakes, guns the engine, smoke is coming from the rear tire then he lets up on the brakes bam it hits the Ford Excape again. He just kept doing that for awhile.
I'm calling 911 the car takes off, a cop shows up I give him all the details they catch the guy who rammed the Excape. I asked the owner of the Excape if she shut someone off at the bar etc. She said no, the place had been closed for over a hour.
I heard later the guy had a few and just didn't care about anyone, or anything. So nothing shocks me anymore.
