Thinking about adding some red LEDs hidden in the bumper and tied into the brake lights. So when i hit the brakes the lower ends of the bumper will lite up and add some additional brake light

To be quite honest I think it would be extremely easy to tie-in LEDs to the break lights. Seems like taking out one taillight an find which wire that gives power to the taillight when the break is applied shouldn't be a hassle. Tie into that wire with two LEDs an mount the LEDs. Shouldn't take long at all.
When you locate that wire at the back of taillight if you won't mind letting us guys know which one it is, I think a few of us would like to know.
Good luck.
i did this exactly with my car. i ended up putting a red led strip in the higher of the 2 opens and an amber one for turn signals in the lower one. i also considered using these red/amber switchback strips instead of 2 separate strips but i ended up deciding against it.

I did the red LEDs in both top and bottom about 6 mo. Age. Get lots of compliments about the look and function. Have other drivers pull up next to me and how good it looks. I also did third brake light , flashes when brake is depress. I did that one with a turn signal relay.
If you go to utube I posted the third brake light flashing, day and night. Search driwash2
i am out of town at the moment and cant get a pic but i will when i get back. it is super easy to do. the green wire is your brake light all you have to do is tap into that. i believe with a stock harness the green wire also does turn signals so the red led strip would flash for turn signals too. however, i have led euro halos, and the euro harness separates the turn signal and brake light so it was super easy to hook up an amber strip for turns and a red strip for brakes.

Green on one side, yellow on the other I belive. Or for other functionality, you could tap into the brown wire and they would function as parking lights. If you don't want them to flash with the turn signals then tap into the wire for the high mount brake light and you'll get brakes only functionatliy.

Don't think the cops would like those lights as much here in florida expect a fat ticket even for flashing tire stem ights..
How can added LED brake lights get you a ticket? It's not like they're blue. So do trucks with the "line of fire" LED strip under the tailgate get ticketed too??

I Live in Central Fl and have red LEDs in both side brake ducts and have red LEDs in back four slots. Have not had any problems with any LEO's. None of the lights can be seen from the front, so not breaking any laws. Back ones come on when brakes are applied.

Reason: Typo
In Florida flashing lights are illegal with the exception of turn signals so the flashing LED third brake light could net you a $101 ticket. Now the one sold by RadioFlyer could be argued as legal because while it is an animated moving light, it is not flashing, its scanning.
All that being said... only expect a ticket from a trooper or a cop you just disrespected on the flashing brake light. Most dont give a rats butt.
I need a high intensity rear fog light to comply with UK regulations. I fitted a square light between the tailpipes but it never looked very good. I fitted the LEDs in the housing a few years ago as a replacement. I have the rear wire Z06 style screens so I used them to mount the lights. It would be better to go for a more permanent bracket as you can see a slight misalignment on the drivers side where the screen has shifted.
I need to be able to operate them independently when the visibility is low so they're operated by an illuminated switch in the cockpit. I ran a wire round the passenger side of the car into the cockpit.
I have them permanently hot but it would be better to wire up to a switched supply which is easy enough to do.
LEDs have improved since I fitted them so it may be time to look at some brighter lights and a more permanent fit.
