Back from vacation

The stories ranged from a woman who had her own C-4 and it was her baby! In fact, her husband really did not care about cars but she had hers from almost new. Another couple had a 66 or 67 (I can’t remember now which) and it was their queen of the garage. I heard stories about tricked out trucks, a couple C-6 owners, and a few street rods thrown in. All around it was a great conversation starter. I saw a couple C-5’s and a C-6 in Anchorage along with a beautiful Cobra that sounded unbelievable as all big block cars with short side pipes do.
It was great to be a small part of the Corvette family and finding open friendly people with one thing in common that leads to so many friendships from all over the world.
What are some of your stories of meeting other Corvette people when on vacations?

The Alaska cruise is definitely on my buket list!
Am sure it was a great experience!!

I have a few hundred pics…but I will spare you and save that beating for family. Here are a few.
I will say if you have ever wanted to go to Alaska, GO. Now I am a bit partial as I was born there, but it is an amazing place and a life, lifestyle and general attitude towards independence and a general way of life that is not seen much in the lower 48.
There are not many places left when you go out to a restaurant you look up and see an eagle as opposed to a seagull just sitting on the roof. This is not uncommon, in many parts of Alaska.
Be sure to go out on a whale watching excursion. We saw in total around 20+ whales, both Humpback and “killer Whales” (Orca), from our balcony on the ship, and on the excursion. We were out in a 23-25 foot Jet boat and it was awesome!
We came across this on the whale watching tour, wild life everywhere. This was one of my favorite pics as it could never be staged.
Glaciers are amazing.
To judge the size of this, those are people at the base of this waterfall and it’s about a 20 minute walk to the falls.
And you cannot go without a sea plane tour of the Fiords. The solitude of landing on a glassy smooth lake in the middle of nowhere and hopping out on to the pontoons is incredible.
Take off in a good ol’ De Havilland.
The scenery and landscape has dramatic changes.
After landing on a lake.
Completely gratuitous pic of me standing out on a float in the middle of the lake. But how many of those will I ever be able to take in my life? Not many.
This was a long post, but you have to go. I was going to contact the Corvette club in Anchorage, but I knew we were going to only be there for a day and a half before heading out.
