The headlights not being plugged up will not cause the problem. Make sure you have a good battery these cars do not like even the slightest voltage issues.
Thanks Marc, what does your CLB look like? The pic isn't loading on the link you sent. Does it connect to the BCM directly? Is it possible I already have one and it's malfunctioning?
Thanks for the battery tips guys. These are apparently really sensitive when it comes to the battery. So after replacing the battery and torking it to 11 ft. lbs., the electrical systems are working better overall. I drove the car over 50 miles yesterday! Shifted well, and it's fast. It went really fast. Oh and did I mention it's fast?! I have found (from other posts on here) that each time I reconnect the battery, I will need to pull fuse 23 (passenger foot well fuse box) and wait for one minute before replacing it. After doing this, I can start the car WITHOUT the "Pull key wait 10 sec." or the "Steering Column lock" messages. I did more research on the CLBs and decided against it for the moment. I don't like the idea of the fuseblock/relays having to deal with the bypass everytime I start the car. And (in theory) I shouldn't have to disconnect the battery constantly soon
Also, for anyone reading this thread who ever has to work on the air dam, here is a good post with an excellent picture of what it is supposed to look like.
It is a horrible design as going over anything higher than like 2" is going to rip the #$@# out of it, but there you go I've read other posts on here where guys say they have to replace it like every other year from hitting so much stuff. I don't think there's a speed bump in America that wont take this out. It looks cool with the full dam set, but further limits your incline terrain options...
Hey guys, here are the updated photos! I've driven her over 100 miles post bumper cover paint job. This is a temporary spray job. I'll do a nice professional paint job in a few years, but I think it looks pretty good for $50. There's a few odds and ends of course, but she rides great. Unbelievable power. Worth every penny and hour I put into her (more than I can say for some of the women I've known over the years). Thanks for all of your help, couldn't have done it without you!

Just read through your entire thread here, and looked at all your photos too. I have to say you making fine progress, and you certainly are not afraid for working to get what you want...that's a good trait to have in this life. I'm happy your getting to enjoy your Vette now as you continue to work on the refurbishing too. That will help keep your spirits up.
Please keep posting your progress, as I admire your effort!
