Default Aftermarket stereo

I would like to put in a new cd receiver. Can someone tell me what I need to make this go as smoothly as possible. I have heard horror stories about the harness that allows tying into the stock bose system that is needed. It will be a pioneer receiver. Also will i be able to use the stock 12 disk changer with a pioneer receiver? Thanks

Dennis is the man when it comes to stereo upgrades. He can certainly set you up.

Unless your good with wiring, the least painful way is to go through a forum vendor...believe me!

THIS!!

You can tweak the little ***** on the PAC ROEM-VET1 interface to adjust the highs from the stock BOSE speakers. Dennis can guide you through, he and DD Mods is top notch!

The best way is go to reputable shop and have them do it. If a forum vendor is close by, then by all means.

And that reputable shop would NOT be a CarToys.

I find the best shops are private shops where the owner is into stereo's/sound, and even competition. A little pricier but they have better service and offer really good equipment.

I was turned onto Eclipse by one, now several years ago. I do wish dennis was closer to me. I would definitely shop him exclusively for many things. His CS is outstanding from what people tell me.

When I had my system installed, the guy that did the original work had been there for many years (12 that I know of), and had worked on two of my previous cars. Pictures of his custom setups were all over the store. Subsequent work has been done by what I now know are rank amateurs with no real experience in custom installations. I sure do miss my custom guy; he went to work at a custom fabrication place, but they won't tell me the name of it. I know when it comes time for me to upgrade I'll be giving Dennis my business. I might even take a drive to his shop so he can do the install work instead of some idiot kid who might shave his three chin hairs twice a month. I eventually want to move up to a double-din and there's nobody around here that can do that type of work. The idiots at CarToys have no idea how utterly P****D OFF they've made me, and they lost another grand or so in sales because I'd been planning on adding a hardwired radar detection system. Now I'll be doing that myself.
