Default Corvette Detailing

Hey guys,

So I just got a 99 Corvette. I need to know what the best products/methods are for washing/waxing the paint. I'd also like to keep the interior in good shape. What should I use to clean/polish the leather seats and the dash/doors? I'd prefer unscented options if they exist.

Having driven Camrys my whole life, these things were never priorities for me So I would really appreciate your advice here. Thanks!

Dawn wash + clay bar + porter cable buffer + favorite polish or cleaner/wax + favorite carnauba wax = SEXY

I use Meguiar's products, but Pinnacle and Adams are two high end product manufacturers. Check out Autogeek.com.

Here's a couple of pics after clay bar & waxing:

You'll get about 10,000 different replies. I would check out this section for ideas http://forums.corvetteforum.com/car-care-discussion-10/

I prefer Zaino after a full correction with Menzerna polishes. I also like Zaino products for the interior and tires. They're some of the best IMO.

Blackfire is also a good line to use.

Adams, cannot beat their products. Greatest customer service going and 110% guaranty. Also they have great video's on the use of each product, from washing properly to hand polishing and waxing to machine polishing. Also a complete line of interior products as well as wheel and tire.

Here are a few pis. of my '01, nothing but Adams has been used on this for the past 7 years I have had it.

I personally like Zaino Brothers for paint polish. Easy on, and Easy off.

Zaino Brothers Tire shine for my tires. It will not sling off and spray down the side of your car like other tire shine's will.

Rain X for windows. It makes it nice and smooth when cleaning with micro fiber towels.

As for the interior... I ONLY use filtered water and a Micro fiber towel. Still looks like it rolled off the assembly line.

I however do use Zaino Leather In a Bottle on my seats. Its the best I have tried for leather conditioner. People have stopped and smelled my leather at car shows and asked me how I retain the leather smell in my seats...

Lots of good options out there, I like Menzenra and Meguires swirl removers and polish, followed by Wolfgang sealer, then the next day and monthly with Wolfgang Fuzion wax

I use both Adams Polishes and Turtle Wax Ice Paste wax on mine. Both do a very good job making the car look great. For the interior, I use Meguires leather cleaner/conditioner.

I use meguirs but the polish says not to let it dry. how do u do that while using a buffer? by Tue time you do the car, switch to a clean pad and buff it off, its already dry. also, do you buff off with the buffer or remove with hand?

You have to do one small section at a time. Like half the hood etc. It's pain in the a.. But the results are good. Just do one section at time and use a microfiber towel to take it off. The pad won't dry up while you do that.

I will throw this out there. The best shine I have ever seen on a car was Liquid Glass. It seems everytime I'm wowed by a detail job and ask what it is, it's almost always Liquid Glass. Mr Bill uses it.

I'm going to try it.

I saw a Z06 the other day that was truly amazing. The car looked like it was glass, I swear it did. Black!

I use AIO, Z5, Z6 then Z8 in that order. Once I have a few coats of Z5 on I can use Z6 or Z8 after a wash.

Good lord.... yeah, I'm sick of the multiple step detailing and seeing a difference over just a single wax. what's a good option for a single product?
