Default Yet another BSM Thread

LOL guys just posting up I took them off after 13 yrs. and Damn, it looks better with out them for those out their that are on the fence about it JUST DO IT I will tell you when you go to do it make sure to spray the goof off on before you take the fishing line to it. I let it soak 10 min. on the drivers side after I had done the passanger side and I am still taking the glue off on the passanger side. Drivers side came off in 30 min total time I would be done but it is 108 deg. outside just waiting for the sun to go down and get a little cooler.

I am the same way. I absolutely love the looks without BSM's, but mine is my DD and I am just so afraid of door dings. I want to take them off, but keep hesitating.......

Mine has some chipped paint, on the BSM's. They're not like the old style edge guards of metal or hard rubber, I don't see much difference between chips on the moldings or the door, it's still a chip. The doors don't "ding" like a metal body either, and I think in most cases they're more resistant to chips because the panels give a little.

To doublec4: Haven't been on Pennocks in years, got tired of the kiddies squabbling. I was 87GT_97114 Fairly active until '07 or so when some punk outright lied about a parts transaction.

Thats too bad about the Fiero forum experience. I've been on since 2003 or so and I still have my 86. That was a nice looking Indy you had there. Anyways, don't want to take this too off topic! Have a good one!

well it's all done they are off and still in good shape. I took the passenger side off last night then today was very hot so when it cooled down I finished the job. To make it easy I got a plastic putty knife and Goop off sprayed then scraped repeated many times it only took about 45 min. and it was done now I need to clay bar and wax and it will be done. I drive mine as much as possiable as for door dings I just try to park away from people / idiots who have no respect for others and hope it dont happen damn car looks good with out. I have seen many vettes without and still thought mine looked good now I like it even more.

Cool!! Never really like BSM's myself. I always just parked away from people. Both C5 Vette's that I owned didn't have them to begin with.

None of my three C5s have come with BSMs, but I do like the looks. It all comes down to a personal preference really.
