I put a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus NON run flats on my '04 TRC. I could not be happier. The tires we replaced were the factory GY Eagle run flats. Those tires were the worst.

It made so much difference in the ride, noise level and traction, it seems like a new car. My wife and I took a road trip in March from Florida to Louisville, stopping at the Museum and for a Plant tour. What a pleasure! We made the return trip of 920 miles home all in one day and were still comfortable at the end of the day.

I highly recommend the Pilot Sports. They are wonderful!

Put on all 4 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S ZPs in March or April. Think I liked the PS2-ZPs better, but you can't really run them in the snow.

A lot are going with the Michelin Pilot Sports. Also you can find a lot of members going with the Hankook or the Nitto. It really depends on your budget.

Ditto above same tires went on my 98 but I put the ZP's (runflats on) same ride and handling comments apply.

max street performance: bridgestone re-11

best value: hankook v12

basically a choice of traction and handling versus value. i personally discount most the other choices because no tire except the nt05 can touch the re-11 in performance and the nt05 forces you to run a non oem 285 35 18 and 255 40 17. the hankook v12 is cheap and a really decent performer for what it costs.

the only thing i freely admit i don't factor in are things like ride quality and noise. i personally can't give an opinion on that as i haven't tried anywhere near all the available tires on a vehicle.

the re-11 is a really sweet tire though. would not be surprised to see a stock z51 car pull 1g on the skidpad with a set. it's a somewhat similar design to the michelin ps2, just more modern, improved rubber compound and a little more aggressive. utqg on it is either 180 or 200, i think the ps2 was mmmmm 220? trying to remember but it's been a few years since i've driven a set

Glad to see the positives for the PS A/S+ ZP, I just ordered mine from a local (and well respected) installer, they'll go on the car Tuesday along with 4 new TPM's.

I put a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S ZP's on my '01 a few months ago and couldn't be happier. Way,way better than the Goodyears that were replaced. Have also heard good things on Hankooks.

Nitto NT05. Surprisingly cheap high performance tire. Handles well on a rainy day too, though not meant for it.

I replaced my Michelins (don't remember the exact model) with Hankook V12s and couldn't be happier. My C5 is a DD and comfort and a quiet ride were my priority.

The Pros; They seem a smidgen less low profile, are MUCH quieter, good traction and give a softer ride.

Cons: because of the softer ride they seem less responsive and the car does not seem as tight.

Overall I'm very pleased. An added bonus, they are good looking tires.

Another vote for the Hankook V12s

Just put on a set a few weeks ago. Did notice them being quieter than the Goodyears and the steering was a little touchier than what I was used to with the Goodyears. But, got used to that after a few miles.
Also they where less than half the money that they wanted for the runflats. I received a rebate from both Discount Tire and Hankook for a a total of $180.

What was the total cost to put the Hankooks on? I am starting some price checking around town and was just curious what kinda deals people were getting. Thanks!

Got mine from Discount Tire Direct in C6 sizing. I just checked and stock C5 sizing would be $646.00 with free shipping. Then there is an $80 rebate until the end of the month. I paid $70 to have them mounted and balanced. So the rebate and mounting was near a wash.

I missed the extra $100 from Discount by being 9 days to early. It was a weekend special. I called but they wouldn't extend it. Oh well. Very happy with the tires.

discount will match the cheapest online price you can find shipped. you still have to pay mounting and balancing but it can save some $$. just bring a printout in of your online quote with the shipping charge showing and they will match it
