C5 Buying Tips-1st Timer
Regarding the Codes, I was thinking that no one would let me plug in a code reader to their car but it appears that by hitting a couple of switches, the codes can be read.
Could I get the instructions for doing this? I assume that the codes are read somewhere near the speedo. I'd like to look like I know what I am doing...
Thanks again, Bob
PS: One of the cars we are going to see today is a dealer (FL) 2003 50th Anniversary with 78K milkes. Wants $21K. Seems like a good price for a car with 20K miles but not the 78K. AutoCheck is good. Comments?
Price does sound high to me, but are we talking coupe or convert and of course the condition is super important. One of the forum members was selling an anniversary convert (as I remember) around 40K miles for $27K +/- and I've seen similar deals since with fewer miles. I would put a coupe at around $3K to $5K less (of course that's just me as I only buy roadsters)
No matter what you pay, satisfy yourself that it was worth it to you. After toooooo many years of buying cars that need stuff, I'm now buying pristine cars and much happier to pay more and get more. That said, I couldn't do that when I was younger.
