Who make the best front splitter that will be used on an otherwise stock 2003 50th. Anniversary coupe ? Where can I go and what can I see there? What looks good and will stand the test of time. My stock air dam scrapes every exit from my driveway ! thank you !
I have an ACI that comes with great mounting hardware. I ordered it through the forum store (West Coast Corvette's).
It is fiberglass and comes ready to paint. Most people that have these paint them to match the body color, I wanted to be a little different and had it dipped in the Hydrocarbon.
QuikZ06 also offers two types in Carbon Fiber. One is a knock off of the ACI and the other is a knock off from one that was done I believe in Europe. Both look great, but you are on your own as far as mounting.
I have researched alot of splitters and the ACI one is the one I will be going with. I'm gonna paint mines torch red to match my car. I have not seen any others that look better than the ACI model.
Go to the apsis site, you'll see my red c5 with Matt black. Leaving black does not show chips because of the black resin it's made with. Search for a apsis post where I talk about it.

ACI gets my vote. You have to change your driving habits just a bit (take every turn at angles). It's really not that bad though. They do sit just a tad higher than the stock side air dam pieces.
They come in a gel coat ready to prep and paint. They also include hardware and templates for installation.
Since you are in PA, you should go to Carlisle in August. Both Apsis and ACI are typically there. They normally give show discounts. I purchased my ACI there last year.
What holds them on? The same hardware that holds the air dam on ?
The only stock attachment point with the ACI is the 2 out bolts one on each side. The ACI comes with two curved metal bars that go inside the lower front bumper cover. You remove the two out stock air damns and the center piece (you reinstall the center piece) I used a floor jack to hold the splitter in place and attached the two pouter bolts. Once they are installed, jack the splitter up so it is touching the underside of the front bumper cover. you then mark each hole that you will need to drill. You remove the splitter, drill the holes. The hardware is then put inside the cover and use the bolts supplied to hold the bars/brackets in place. You will need a pop rivet gun, because now you drill two holes through the bumper cover and each bar, this is what keeps the bars in place. Now it is just a matter of installing the splitter again and the center stock air damn.
Once again, how do they attach, & do either effect the engines cooling?

This is our Carbon Vortex, they are shorter than the ACI by about an inch.

The Carbon Vortex or C5R is $485 shipped
The Fiberglass Vortex or C5R is $400 shipped
I really like the second one shown. Do they come with instructions and can I download a copy so I can see if I'm up for the job. The Vortex painted in my 2003's Anniversary red. Instaltion is my big fear. I don't want to get in over my head. Seems when you start looking at front end splitters, $399.00 to $500.00 is a pretty wide spread ! After owning the Corvette with the now famous "Corvette Tax" it seems ever time I start thinking of a mod, it's a $1000.00 buck just to get a quote.

On the silver car? In carbon $485 shipped and $400 in fiberglass. There are no instructions, but there are a few write-ups on the forum from a few customers that have installed them. I'll try to find the threads and I'll pm you.
ACP makes one of the best splitters on a C5. They have a 2" and a 4" splitter made of fiberglass. Very good quality. Many of the racers with aero on their vettes use this splitter on the cars along with an undertray. But in doing this, you have to make your car get cool air from the front (like a C6) and not from underneath like a stock C5. This is probably overkill for a street driven only car, but it works well on the racetrack.
If you add a splitter with no undertray, it's only for looks. If that's what you want, than any of the above mentioned splitters will serve you well.
