[Z06] MPH display on dash??

Default MPH display on dash??
Car is a 01 Z.
When I set the cruise control the MPH is displayed. But it isn't on all the time.
Is there any way to override this?
Besides HUD??

Hey, speaking of cruise control. Do the RPMS have to be at a certain rev before cruise will stay on. I have 2.73's in a 6spd car and in 6th i can cruise at 65 @ 1k RPM. The cruise control will activate and stay on for about 10 seconds before disengaging.
