Default fair price

I'm looking at a 2000 convertible, 33k miles, black, heads-up display, bose sound sys., 6 spd man, what looks like standard wheels with good tires. The car is a very well taken care of trade-in at a dealership where I know someone in the service dept. and I've been assured it's mechanically sound. Anyone have an idea what it should go for? Just looking for a bargaining number.

From a private party it would be worth 18-19k. You can add 2-3k to this figure for dealership pricing.

Around here, the dealers add a lot more than $2-$3K. Low 20's would sound fair to me (from a dealer). Good luck!

If you can get it for around $20K or so, I'd say that would be a decent deal.

I am on the 20K bandwagon.
