well, i have found black led's and am going that route. the refelector is the legal catch here. The black housing with a reflector ring covers all bases though still not as nice as smoke, but i dont need the tickets.

It's those big corporate offices there, and in Frisco, that want their money's worth out of the cops. I've been to Frisco with my tint a couple of times, glad none stopped me.

I like tinted tails, right now mine are Matte black, with a lighter tint on the inside lights, changing them soon.

Ask yourself 2 questions.
1. Do you feel safe with tinted lights?
2. What do you like better?
while i usually agree with mr bill, i would add that it depends on the degree of tinting you choose. i had black cherry regular tinted rear lenses and you couldn't see them at night let alone during the day. i was constantly having someone pull along side me and tell me that my tail lights were out. i would get home, get behind the car and look, and sure enough, i could tell they were on, but most others would have a hard time seeing that. i bought a set of halo led lights from JWMotoring and had jhonathan LIGHTLY tint them and they came out great. they are more subdued than not tinted, but very easily seen. very easy to see during the day, and no problems at night. i do agree however it depends on which you like better as the determining factor.

That's why I said "smaller" town. I'm very aware of where Plano is but, compared to Houston or Dallas, Plano is tiny and therefore your liklihood of running across the same LEO day after day is considerably greater, especially if he's a two-wheeler as those guys definitely march to the beat of a different drummer anyway. Their "Cowboy" mentality is MUCH higher.
