I paid $450 for a pair of '03 243 heads complete, with 76K miles on them. Cost me another $110 in machine work to have them milled, cleaned, and valves lapped (not ground).
Then another $190 or so in new PAC springs, GM seals/seats and valve locks. I re-used the GM retainers.
Not so much. '01 LS6 heads are 243 castings but have regular solid valves.
AND '01 243 heads were different castings
Less aluminum so porting and polishing is not easy to do
plus do not flow as well as '02+ 243 heads with the triangle sand casting impression.
Yes they flow better then the 241 heads
Value? few hundred if that. New 243 heads without springs and valves can be found for $600 / set
