I'm looking at buying a 2007 Z06. I came across this one on EBay. This just sounds too good to be true...only 1,100 miles???

Does anyone have any advice here or past history with potential odometer tampering? If you look at the car history report...it shows no owner!

Sure it shows an owner

09/06/2006 SMITHTOWN, NY 3 Motor Vehicle Dept. TITLE

it's very possible it only has 1,100 miles on it. I would call them and speak to them if you're interested. texas direct has been on Ebay for a long time and sell a ton of cars.

See if they can get you in touch with the PO.

the only thing that seems odd to me, is it was sold at auction with 1,100 miles on it. But i'm not in the car business so who knows what happened here for sure.

You'll only know if you call them. I don't think you can tamper with the odo, but I'm not sure.

Sounds like a typical garage queen to me. Besides that, it is being sold by a dealer. They have to provide documentation in the sales process certifying that the odometer reading is accurate. Otherwise they can be in some serious sh#t!!!!!

I would think that it was a guy that bought it, never drove it enough to maintain his interest in it, and got bored with it.

Just a guess, and MHO.

However, it has done a LOT of sitting for five years, which would affect how much I would want to give for it.

Default Low mileage Vette

Thanks for the feedback. Very helpful. In your opinion what do you think is a fair offer for the car since it has sat around for 5 years?

You may try asking this question in C6 Gen. You would find more people there who could give you an idea of it's value.

But heck, you can still find C5s with that kind of mileage on them. Some people buy the cars and then just don't drive them.

I would only put less than 500 miles a year on my '71 C3, so the mileage may not be unrealistic.

It might be a real garage queen, but I already bought a car from NY and the salt or whatever they treat the roads with in winter eats the hell out of the undersides of a car. Also, if possible I'd wait till fall when the prices fall for the season ?
