Default Traded in the Vette

Well, after having it for a few years I traded it in. I decided that I would rather trade it than deal with the problems. It was nice not having payments and owning a corvette too.
We got a SAAB 9-7x With the GM 5.3 and AWD. Nice SUV. I miss the mileage of the vette, and the throttle, but that is it.
Maybe in the future Ill get another one but it will be a while.
Not that I was an active member, but thanx everyone at CF!!!

I have a 1999 FRC and have had virtually very few problems. Gonna take a fishing/golf trip this week. And yes, I love the mileage and the heavy foot when I need it.

I've been looking to trade my Harley for another older Vette...sickness I guess.

But in searching ads I see more than one person looking to trade a Corvette for an SUV. My opinion is this is more of a lifestyle change than a problem with the Vette. Maybe marriage or growing family? Much like my situation. I just don't care to ride it anymore. Not a thing wrong with the bike and was never a problem, just figure quit while I'm still alive and want something else.

Anyway, for whatever reasons, hope you enjoy the new ride.

Sorry you had problems with the Vette - sometimes you just have to make a change. Best of luck with the Saab and hope you do get back into a Vette at some point in the future.

The Saab SUV he's referring to is essentially a reworked Chevy Trailblazer with different sheet metal and a much nicer interior. GM owned Saab for a time and that dealership group wanted an SUV. GM -- already infamously renowned for on-the-cheap badge engineering (Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Buick Rainier) -- gave them the 9-7x.

(We owned a high-end Trailblazer for seven years. The truck performed well and was reliable, but man -- the interior was a major embarrassment!)

The car ran great and with an intake, tune, tstat, and a bypass mod my 2004 auto ran low 13's at 106.
My next vette will be a stick, and/or a turbo.

LOL The saab is actually nice... Its like a TBSS with a 5.3 instead of a 6.0. Im already modding it. I think the first thing will be to get efans and a tstat. Tune it and then focus on my truck. At least Im staying GM. My other truck is a 97 rc step side and its getting a lsx 4l80e and a turbo.
Also we want kids and 2 two seat vehicles wont fly.

It's amazing how interesting it can be when I just get on the forums and find as many "variety minds" - ahem.... as myself in some ways .
I'm 56 years old, never had the dollars to own a Vette, have brothers who owned a few older c3's and c4"s (the 3's being the least gremlin visited), always and continually have dreamed of buying/caring for one- (especially when the C6 came out! ) BUT... never have arrived beyond an '08 Cobalt (no- not an SS) and currently a '11 Cruze.
I'm finally an empty nester and I just plain enjoy driving. Not so much the heavy foot aspect, but just sailing around. It's weird, but sometimes when I look at the interior of my Cruze , I'm thinking how much it looks almost as good as a Current Cadillac CTS . And then, I can't help but think, is this the precursor to the C7? The swooping dual cockpit motif with a wraparound dash to door integration. I dunno.
But... I'm back o dreaming. My latest idea was to get a great deal on a low mileage C4 in cherry condition - but now I'm hearing about all the "clocking" going on with electronic odo"s !!!!
